Franklin PRCA Rodeo

The Franklin Noon Rotary Club was chartered on January 13, 1948 by Judge Jim Warren. Among the founding members were Dr. Harry Guffee, Rev. Henry Moberly, and Bill Miller. Sometime during the winter of 1949, the new Rotary Club began looking for a fund raising project, and the idea for the Franklin Rodeo began to take form. After much work and prayer the first Rodeo was held in May 1950 and it was a great success. The Franklin Noon Rotary Club has been carrying on the tradition since that time. Every member of The Franklin Rotary Club has an assigned job and a key task in the production of the Rodeo.
Since 1950, every dollar raised by the club for community projects has been raised through the Rodeo. It's safe to say the Rodeo has produced more than a million dollars, which has been poured back into the community. This money has taken the form of college scholarships, books, medical education, health care, band uniforms, help for the mentally and physically handicapped, support of exchange students, construction of park facilities, donations to local charities, direct benevolent work, Polio Plus, and many, many more projects. No other Franklin Civic Club has raised and spent more money in the community than the Franklin Noon Rotary Club.
